The human figure and especially the female body have been approached throughout the history of art in different ways: from the most orthodox way to the most contemporary, with not a few artists who, from the subtle or spectacular, have permeated the memory. of generations of consumers of good art.
The work of Víctor Manuel Guerra Arteaga seems to be a debtor and consequence of this entire pictorial tradition that has remained faithful and happily rooted in the academic conception of the so-called fine arts.
With Resplendent Bodies: Victor´s most recent personal exhibition, we witness a work that is torn between realism and hyperrealism. This pictorial serie is characterized by elegant brushstroke, use of imponderable color plus a successful and particular design of each composition.
The author tries to tie us to the turbulent intersection of the conceptual background. Behind all that overflow of technical virtuosity there is a backdrop that only aims to reflect and sensitize the soul of others, a type of image that underlies many mysteries, contentions and limiting situations, as a kind of show where the trick is always observed, capturing the human species in some of its aspects. Peak moments, of catharsis and submission that at all times seek to decipher their behaviors.
